$13m fraud accused asks judge for advice
THE businessman accused of conning Westpac out of a $13 million loan has asked a judge for advice on how to subpoena people.
Sunshine Coast man Andrew Eric Young was accused of defrauding the bank when Kleenmaid was insolvent.
He was a Kleenmaid director and now plans to represent himself at trial.
A Brisbane District Court hearing on Friday covered procedural and paperwork issues that needed addressing before any trial could go ahead.
"The idea is that all parties upload all documents that they might rely on,” Judge Brian Devereaux said.
"I have no understanding of that at all,” Young replied.
Mr Young said he might get "a legal person” to help with some preparation for any future trial.
The case was adjourned for a mention next week.
