39 Darling Downs COVID-19 cases: Where they were confirmed

THIRTY-NINE people have now been diagnosed with COVID-19 in the Darling Downs, as confirmed cases spread west of Toowoomba for the first time this week.

The first case in the Western Downs region, which is included in the Darling Downs Health area, was reported on Sunday.

That patient was confirmed to be from Miles, and brought the total number of cases in the region to 24.

One day later, the Darling Downs total jumped to 28 following the confirmation of four additional cases in Toowoomba.

On Tuesday, March 31, Darling Downs Health said two people in Oakey had tested positive for coronavirus, a first for the small town.

By this day, the total number of Darling Downs cases had reached 31.

By Wednesday this jumped again, with the confirmation of 37 Darling Downs COVID-19 patients.

This included two additional patients in Oakey, and a new case in Kingaroy - the first since Friday, March 13.

The first case in Chinchilla was also reported on Thursday, when the total raised to 39.

No new cases were reported in the region today.

An additional 39 cases were reported across Queensland on Friday, bringing the state total to 873.
