Accused drug trafficker granted bail despite objections

BREAKING: An accused drug trafficker arrested in a series of raids across the region yesterday has been granted bail.

Terrence Wayne Barber, 52, appeared in custody in the Toowoomba Magistrates Court this morning, charged with a string of offences including three counts of trafficking in dangerous drugs and unlawful weapons possessions.

Despite a police objection to bail lodged in the court, Magistrate Bruce Schemioneck granted Barber bail with strict conditions.

Mr Schemioneck ordered Barber reside at a Ballard address and report to police twice a week.

Barber was not required to indicate a plea to the 10 charges before the court, and the matters were adjourned back to the same court for committal mention on January 17.
