Sellers warned of test rider stealing motorbikes
MOTORCYCLE sellers have been warned to be cautions when allowing potential buyers to test ride bikes after a string of thefts in south east Queensland.
The man who took a bike for a spin from a Kunda Park dealership and never came back was thought to also be responsible for at least four other thefts in Brisbane and the Gold Coast since December 18.
Investigators said on four occasions - in Sunnybank Hills, Woolloongabba, Salisbury and Pacific Pines - the man arranged a meeting with the seller after seeing the motorcycles advertised on an online classifieds website.
He then takes each motorcycle for a test ride and does not return.
The man was described as Caucasian, aged in his early 30s, about 185cm tall with a solid build, short brown hair and brown eyes.
The man had a tattoo of a fish on his right arm and a wizard on his left leg.
Anyone with information regarding the man or his whereabouts is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
