UPDATE: A terrifying video recorded on the Bruce Hwy this morning shows the truck crash that caused traffic chaos, as it unfolded.
Kaieisha Afoa was travelling north behind the truck when it swerved into the median strip then onto oncoming, south-bound traffic, colliding with a car and knocking it off the road.
It then swerved back onto the median strip between the north- and south-bound lanes, at Beerburrum, where it tipped on its side and came to rest.
Kaieisha and her dad were heading to Maroochydore for a Rugby League competition when the truck began to swerve.
"My dad said to start taping in case of an accident," she said.
"I was scared that the truck was going to crash into us."
The truck driver and a man travelling in the car he hit received minor injuries in the crash, and both were taken to hospital.
Traffic travelling in both directions was delayed for hours as emergency services cleared the road.
