University of Southern Queensland's top courses revealed
THE University of Southern Queensland has revealed the most popular courses people have applied for in 2020.
The university's Bachelor of Nursing, which it offers at its Toowoomba and Springfield campuses, was its most popular program based on application numbers so far this year.
This was followed by their Tertiary Preparation Program, a program for people who did not finish year 12 or who finished year 12 many years ago to get them ready for university.
The Bachelor of Science (Honours) was the third most popular course followed by the Bachelor of Education, Master of Learning and Teaching, Bachelor of Engineering (Honours), Bachelor of Business and Commerce, Bachelor of Laws, Associate Diploma of Engineering and Master of Clinical Psychology.
More than 400 undergraduate students received offers to study at USQ this week as part of the Queensland Tertiary Admission Centre's main offer round.
Vice-Chancellor Geraldine Mackenzie said she congratulated all students who received an offer to commence their learning journey at USQ.
"Receiving an offer is a great achievement and we're delighted so many students from diverse backgrounds have earned a place to study with us," Professor Mackenzie said.
"To date, we have made over 2000 offers and look forward to welcoming our 2020 commencing student cohort to the university next month."
In late 2019 USQ announced a new scholarship scheme for high achieving school leavers.
To date, USQ has received 120 applications for these scholarships including 11 applications for the Chancellor's Excellence Scholarship, 63 for the Vice-Chancellor's Scholarship and 46 for the Executive Dean's Scholarship.
The university is still accepting applications for Semester One of 2020.
Semester one at USQ starts on February 24.
